Slice of heaven. I was a tourist in the area therefore limited in what I could try. Everything looked divine. Bought a few different pastries, the cherry quark cake was fantastic and the Florentiners were the most delicate and tasty morsels ever created with almond, butter, and chcolate. The apple cake and filbert Florentiner were fabulous too. So wish I didn't live 2.5 hours away. Great selection of impossible to find German/European imports too.
A Touch of Europe. Just behind the Tim Horton's at the odd corner of Ross St. and Bayfield is a brightly painted building giving you a taste of what you might find inside---and the place doesn't disappoint.
Owned and operated by the Higgins family, this is the fourth generation of Europen trained bakers - bringing a touch of Europe to Central Ontario.
Filled top to bottom with confections of all kinds, the colorful surroundings are complimented by the equally cheerful people behind the counter.
Anyone looking for a light lunch can indulge in their modest but marvelous fare of sandwiches, deli meats, coffee, hot chocolate (dreamy) and frankly, the best coleslaw and potato salad you've ever eaten. (not to mention sample a pastry or two from their heavenly delicious selection!)
